P-47 Thunderbolt Print
The P-47 Thunderbolt flew its maiden flight on May 6th, 1941. Designed to be a fighter/bomber utilized by the Allied forces, it was known as a dependable plane that could keep flying even when damaged.
Collectively P-47's flew over 2 million flight hours during WWII and shot down over 7,000 enemy planes. Though not as famous as the P-51 Mustang, the P-47 was a powerful tool used throughout the United States involvement in WWII.
